    Mud Pod

Bought myself a Mud Pod and have just fitted it to my Disco 1. Looks pretty good to me.
Have fitted some switches to it but nothing is actually hooked up yet.
I am however worried that having it front and centre on the dash it will get VERY hot. Exactly what happened Tuesday! The casing was very hot to touch. My concern is for the well being of the gauges that will be housed in this hot house!

Should I be worried .... if yes any ideas?

Thanks all for a great site

Mine has been there 18months. No issues with my VDO gauges.

    Hi sobloodyobvious
How much did the shipping cost? Im looking at the mudpod site and the shipping is more than the product.

Also heating is good question, any V8 owners out there with the mudpod and any heating concerns?

    Is yours a V8?

    Howdy,

I would be quite interested in the heat issue and also pricing as well. I'm looking at chucking a mud pod in my D1 TDI at some stage as well.

On that though, how would having a V8 rather than a TDI affect heat on the mud pod when it is on the dash. Sorry just wondering if I am missing something here.

    Thanks

    Chris

Your lucky day! Being in Melbourne you just have to head down to Les Richards Automotive and pick one up.

I was concerned about the heat but so far it's not an issue. Did buy a rubber moulding to fit around the bottom of the pod. Makes the finish look a bit more professional.

Why not just put a sun shade up when not in use to prolong the life of gauges and whatever else is mounted in the pod.
