Were the springs the same length left and right?
Some aren't... and if they're installed the wrong side, it'll lean. Drivers side is heavier if just the driver, and the drive line is offset to the right so some springs compensate for that.
Hi All,
Have very recently put new suspension (Shockers/Springs) in my D1. Have noticed that my car leans to the drivers side. Does this on flat level ground. What would cause this? I noticed it prior to suspension upgrade and hence the upgrade as the old suspension was stuffed. Any ideas? Thought that with upgrade the car would sit level again.
Cheers,
Vinnie

This is a natural trait of these cars. even when corrected they usually return to this condition after some time. Most replacement springs are handed which means you need to put them in the right location to have them sit level. If you get the right and left mixed up it will really put it on a lean. If the springs don't fix the lean you could add a spacer to the top of a spring or as I did left one of the top spacers off a rear spring.

Sorry for the hijack, but how easy is it to put 1" spacers all round?

It's very easy. Mine sagged a bit with all my accessories and wanted to add more lift so I fitted 30mm spacers all around. They were polly ones for about $30 a pair. The rears are easy, just compress the springs and put them in. The fronts need the shocks removed and springs compressed to fit.
Cheers, David.

Thanks, I have Bilstein shocks so presume they'll handle a 25/30mm lift but what about brake lines & such?

Thanks, I thought so but better to ask than do it & find otherwise LOL.![]()
That being said - I can't remember what year your D1 is, but it may be that your flexible lines could do with being replaced. $40 for some extended stainless braided hoses for peace of mind?
