    V8 Disco Clutch Fork Problem

Hi guys... fitting a new clutch into my disco today and got a new bearing and carrier but when ive gone to fit it up the clutch fork doesn;t clip onto the pivot ball at all and just falls off... On top of that i cant figure out what actually hold the bearing/carrier onto the clutch fork.

Can anyone help me out here?

Question. Is it a cast alloy fork or a pressed metal one?As far as i know the pressed metal one is diesel engine only and tend to get punched thru at the pivot point. The V8 alloy fork should be bolted to the bellhousing from what i have seen on the rave CD.
If it is the pressed metal, then there is a U-shaped metal clip that should be riveted to the fork.

    Cheers

Its neither... its Cast Iron... but yes it does have the plastic clip, ive figured that part out. Its the part where it attaches to the pivot pin/ball that i cant figure out, it doesnt seem to have a retaining clip or anything to hold it on and stop it popping off.

98% of all Land Rovers built are still on the road.
The other 2% made it home.

Cost difference between Britpart and Genuine seals: £2.04. Knowing that your brakes won't fail at any moment: Priceless.

Yup, thats the setup I have, and I have every part liste there, but i'm thinking it must be worn.

I think i must need to get a hold of a refurb kit like this. Im thinking that plastic part is worn perhaps.
