3.9 ECU - Does it stall engine on overheat
Hi All,
Is there any inbuilt safety mechanisms in the ECU to sense overheating and stall the motor?
Trying to help diagnose an issues with another Disco.
Info I have is overheats after 15kms or so, then stalls and cant be re-started until cool.
Thanks,
Rez

Nope. The ECU will fuel the engine until it seizes or explodes. I've seen it happen.
You could have a faulty ignition module, a leaking fuel pressure regulator, or a faulty ECU temp sender causing flooding.
