Thread: '93 Disco dash / cup holder questions

I have a 93 Disco, 3.5lt, which dash does yours have, the early or later one..

You can attach disco2 can holders on either side of the transmission tunnel, not cheap to buy new but wreckers sometimes have some, ebay certainly does. The original one in mine is long gone. Brittle plastic that gave up on the center window switch console was replaced with aluminium sheet and plywood.

If it is the later dash then you can buy NAS cupholders which screw on to the centre console. Still available new. $95 from linn rover in WA.

Being a 93 I suspect you'll have the earlier dash so they may not work.

Do those not have the push-to-open can holders that comes out of the dash?

no - does not come with cup holders already, I've sherlocked the whole thing, pressing panels, looking for secret switches

single bloke, and kind of hard to get the dog to hold my beer. (He keeps drinking it on me the sneaky bugger).

Yep that is the early dash, so you will be limited in what you can do.

Maybe go to your local spare parts chain store and see if they have anything that works. There are a lot of options now for earlier vehicles which didn't have cup-holders.

Alternatively you could see if the NAS cupholders sold as an accessory for the update D1 (late 94 onwards?) and D2 (see attached pic) can be adapted to fit. Colour match may be an issue as they only come in light and dark beige, grey, black and a green grey.

or just get these from a marine shop or ebay (they'll be cheaper than from BCF probably)


(or any of the numerous variations thereof)

and screw them on somewhere convenient.
