Thread: Oil Pressure Switch leak. 3.9L V8.

Hello all,

I am trying to prevent my 96 Disco V8 from being an environmental nightmare by fixing all the oil leaks. Now that I have given you a good laugh can you tell me what the trick is with the common oil pressure switch leak.

I have put 2 new ones in my car in the 2 years I have owned it and now have the same leak again. The oil leaks through the switch, not around the thread which would be easily fixed.

The switch is obviously a crappy design and I'm hoping somebody knows of an aftermarket switch which does not leak or one off another car that has the same performance characteristics that will fit.

I'd hazard a guess that the two replacement ones have been Britpart ones. Have a hunt round to see if you can find a genuine item.
