The reason I ask is that my 245/75R16's on standard offset rims required a decent size camel cut on the rear and still scrub on occasion. Just by looking at them, the fronts wouldn't be too far off scrubbing. Adding 30mm of offset... I would assume they would scrub on the panels way more often, especially with almost another 2 inches of tyre.

The D1's just weren't designed to take larger tyres as far as I can tell. Plenty you can do to make them take larger tyres, but it does take a little work.

    Just my two cents.

    Hi Chris,

The disco has about 50mm of lift.
I didn't need to make any changes to the front arches but with the rear I took out close to 40mm all around and then camel cut the back of the arch. The disco had the standard disco flares which I re shaped with a heat gun to suit the new arch. That worked okay but I will put some proper flares on as there are a couple of wrinkles.
The tyres don't stick out past the original flares and only very occasionally rub the inside back of the wheel arch. Mainly when the axles are crossed up big time.

Re the spacers, they are hub adapters so they bolt to the hub and then the wheel bolts to the adapter seperatly. These were on when I put it over the pits to re-register after a rebuild and engine swap last year.

Interesting point though, I'll give the rego guys a call and see what they reckon.

The photo attached shows the set up reasonable well.

    Cheers

    Ben
