Which Tdi300 had the electronic pump?

I'm looking at a 97 Tdi300 auto and I know they introduced an electronic controlled injector pump at some point late in the D1s, but I don't know when...

I'd like to avoid the 'lecy pump if I could.

Yeah, it appears a lot of Tdi300's from other countries got them, but it appears we didn't.

I'll find out on friday when I pick it up!

I have always been wondering about these,

what were the benefits or indeed the failings of these, did they have better economy or more power, reduced emissions, or just more lucas electrics

    cheers james

To meet tighter emissions standards. Some countries got cat converters with the 300tdi too.

Problem averted, mine's a normal mechanical pump!

Never the less, it would be still interesting to know if we got any EDC 300s here..

I have seen one, but it was a private import. They were never sold new here.
