    5000lb winch big enough?

I want to use this as a detachable winch, but will it be big enough to pull the Disco out/over/etc?

Don't even consider it, way too small and not fit for purpose. Put that money towards a proven brand 4WD winch or a Tirfor if you want a detachable one.

    Hi,

    Definitely not fit for purpose.

If portability is the key requirement, go for a tirfor or similar and some quality recovery kit like snatch blocks and stuff...

    Cheers,

    I'd suggest 9,000lb or 9,500lb ....

just look for a second hand winch such as this

    Super Winch X 9 Suit ALL 4 X 4 9000lb in Brisbane, QLD | eBay

and then put it in something like this

T REX Winch Mount Plate Bullbar Cradle Mounting 4WD 4x4 Jeep Truck Trailer | eBay

I had a mate in the UK who reinforced the front and put a hayman tow hitch to the front and he just moved the winch front or back depending on where he wanted to pull
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
