    New to Disco

After a lot of years in Leaf springs, canvas tops and 3 leavers, I have branched out into the world of coil springs and V8's and bought myself a 1993, 3.9 EFI Disco. It is in fairly good nick for it's age and I picked it up real cheap as it had a problem or two. It's main problem is in the front axle where it has lost drive. We pulled the front axle apart tonight, CV's and half shafts are all good, so I would guess that the problem is going to be in the diff.
Also in my back yard (that I acquired some time ago) is a 1985 RRC "Parts vehicle.
So am I correct in the belief that the diff from the RRC will bolt straight into the Disco ?
How do I tell what the ratios are on each of the diffs ? I would guess that I may have to swap both front and rear diffs if there is any doubt.
Assuming that neither of these vehicles have been messed with, am I going to run into problems with the number of splines ?

LR ratios are all 3.54 , RRC diff will bolt in but there are differences like radius arm bolt size is different, RRC has 10 spline axles and D1 has 24.
D1 is also metric and brake hoses probably wont fit, disco parts are cheap so a whole wont be much if thats where the problem is.

    D1's had both 10 & 24 spline depending on date. I have a early 93 with 10 & a late 93/94 with 24

Well we pulled the front diff center out tonight and all I can say is.... must have gone bang with a hell of a crack, and it looks like it was driven (or more likely towed) for a fair distance with a planet gear and a chunk of mounting shaft grinding around inside. We can't find one part inside the diff that is salvageable.. . . . . . . . . . Now to find a replacement (that won't have SWMBO out to damage me)

Correct and since his has a 3.9 it will have 24 spline axles.
