Rear Windows

Hi All,

I just bought a 95 Discovery V8i (70,000km on the clock) and being a newbie suspect that one or two things may not be working as well as they should be.

Yo start with something simple ( or maybe I am) the rear windows only go down half-way. Were they designed this way or is there something that I am missing?

Would appreciate any guidance that people might care to provide.

Normal ,, to go any further down is impossible because of the rear wheel arch

Figures

 Now I feel really thick. Guess i'll just concentrate on working out if there's anything else that should go on the list for the dealer to fix .... like the clunky sounds the gearshift makes etc ...

ahh, the Disco gearbox clunk,,,

If you let the clutch out in first and there is a clunk, there is a fair chance the infamous Disco input shaft problem has arrived.
Basically, lack of lubrication causes splines to disappear and the output shaft turns around quickly till it hits the next one.

There is PLENTY of info here and other sites about this

Not to worry overly ( money fixes everything) it is a VERY common problem.

look at replacing second gear synchro at the same time,,

I think LR ducked a huge recall issue there,,,

Had it looked at twice and the guy's just told me it was normal.

Pedro the weather up here is great today..... but yesterday.. !!

The neighbours rain gauge From friday night to Saturday night overflowed the 250mm mark. It had been just peeing down, but today beautiful.
Still we have had it good here at Scherger, compared to the poor buggers 800k's further south at Cairns.

I have the same problem with the Defender.
As to the synchro problem did the Defenders have the same problem (mines a 200Tdi) as it is a bastard to get into second at times - the missus is particularly hassled by this.

And yeah - money fixes everything. Now where do I get more money....
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
