Absolutely. Mine would run constantly, instead of stalling at traffic lights, get out, bang the bottom of the tank, get back in, ignore horns honking, restart it....

A fuel pump is a device for keeping up the fuel injection pressure in the fuel rail. Once a fuel pump flows enough fuel to run up to the fuel pressure regulator setting it can't increase performance. If a worn pump or blocked filter prevents you reaching full pressure under full load your performance will suffer. A bigger than necessary pump won't make you go faster unless you alter the rest of the system to use its abilities.

Thank Bee Utey, i kind of knew that, my question was more aimed at a faulty pump not delivering enough fuel, which you answered, thats what I suspected with mine, it had been failing for a while till it finally gave up, I guess ill see when I change it next week if there is an improvement at all.

I think my change in power was that mine kept going to limp home mode each time I'd flick from petrol / gas etc. as via bee- utey's help I altered the wiring and this was done at the same time as changing the pump...because it sure runs better now .Gary
