Please share your fuel economy for 300tdi Disco.

Mine is low I think its low and I don't know what the problem might be. Maybe dirty injectors.

    Fuel economy 18/100 (litter/100km)

    Cheers and Happy New Year!!

That is terrible, a 300tdi should be able to achieve 10l/100km without too much trouble, my old 200tdi unit would do 8.5l/100km (on standard tires) without too much difficulty.

Are you seeing a lot of smoke on start up or during running?

I see some smoke when running, and a lot when car is loaded and when I floor it. No smoke on Start up.

I have Electronic injector pump (Jap import), allisport intercooler.

    I thought 18/100 is bad.
    I have standard tires too.

What are your driving conditions like? 18/100 could be normal if you're commuting to work in sand or mud.

    Otherwise it's terrible.
Here are the fully results for 200 and 300tdi discoveries. Your results are right off the end:

Dougal, thanks for the link, I actually realized my own brain fart.

I mean 18 MPG not litters per 100km.

So upon proper conversion I am doing 13litters/100km, which is 30% worst than the average.
There is still something wrong. I drive in the city.

Mine used to belch out black smoke when under load, turned out to be a split turbo hose, once replaced I seemed to get better fuel economy

So still bad (below average), but not terrible.
Well that's a releif. Great site isn't it, being able to change results instantly from/to all the different units saves a lot of confusion.

I'd put a boost gauge on your one for first check. Could be a dying turbo or split/delaminated hose. I'd also clean out the intercooler.

I have 245-75 tyres and normally get 12-13L/100. Worst I've got was 15L/100 which was off road and sand driving.

Mine is manual, running 32" muddies, with a few mods like upped fuel pump and such done by previous owner

I get about 14l/100km, and I mainly use it for 4wding trips, or towing the motorbike... So I figure thats pretty good
