Thread: Windscreen washer problem

Hi All,

one of the problems on my 95 V8 is that I cant wash the windscreen - which is really annoying.
When operating the switch (pulling the stalk down) the Windows wipers operate, but no water comes out. This suggests that the switch and the fuse are OK.
I undid the nuts and bolts locating the washer reservoir and applied 12 to the motor terminals directly and got water squirting, so that suggests that the motor and tubes are OK.
I also tried to see if there was voltage at the connector to the motor, but as the probes for the meter I have didn't fit, I stuck a couple of wires down the connector and measured 0 volts across that - but it's hard to say whether they were contacting the connectors or not.
Which leaves me with the wiring and circuit. I've had a look at the wiring under the dash and around the steering wheel, but it looks like multicoloured spaghetti to me.
