TDI SRS light fault - How to/who to clear + more
Hi guys.
*
New to the group, new owner of a Discovery Tdi and a new learning curve for me in regards to the automotive world
*
So, now ive introduced myself i have a few problems i would like to discuss and hopefully get sorted with the help of fellow members..
*
First, as stated above. I have the common SRS light on the dash everytime i take the Disco out! Right 'S' flashes for awhile before coming solid but other than that there is nothing else weird lighting up. I'm guessing this has happened due to a battery change from the previous owner..
*
So, how do i fix this? Is there any way i myself can clear this fault code or does it have to be a specific Land Rover dealership/specialist? I'm a Auto Technician/electrician and currently use Hanatech and Snap On scanners for most things like this, but being a 1994 D1 it only has the 4 pin plug left of the fuse panel so i don't think my scanners/adapters will work.
*
If this is the case, anyone know of a good Land Rover specialist i can take it to South West of Perth as i am in the Peel Region in WA? If i can't fix it myself that is.. Thanks!!
*
Now, on another note.. Without pulling off the door trims, can anyone tell me if this model Discovery comes factory with central locking? Seems to just be an option as this specific one does not? It has a slot in the fuse panel for central locking with no fuse but placing a fuse in there does nothing so figured i would run the question before going any further. Cheers.
*
And lastly, not sure if this is the spot to ask or what not but i'm keen on making this TDI get up and boogey!! Anyone know any decent bolt on performance upgrades available for these Disco's? And is it worth it? Thanks again!! Was thinking a mandrel bent exhaust system followed by a turbo upgrade utilizing the factory turbine/exhaust housing and maybe a better intercooler and intake?
*
Well, sorry to take up your time with this text book like story but i really do appreciate your input and kind regards to you all. Thankyou once again!!
