I tried syntrans and it improved cold shifts but I found as the oil got to operating temp the shift quality deteriorated. Was noticeably worse in hot weather and when working hard.

I now use Motul Gear 300 and it has a better shift quality all round, unaffected by temperature as far as I can tell. The change into second is no longer the crunchy affair it used to be.

Only downside is the price. Bought some on the weekend for $50 per litre but I've never had an issue spending on good oil. It's good insurance and piece of mind in my opinion.

Being a Castrol person, Castrol EPX 80W-90 or Castrol Universal 80W-90.

Tip. Undo the fill plug before draining the oil. Not only does it allow the oil to flow better plus it has the benefit of avoiding potential embarrassment and inconvenience if you can't undo the fill plug
