Gearbox oil temparature light in manual D1??

    Hi All!!

Noticed that my gearbox oil light turns off a second or two after I start the engine. Do you with manual D1 have the same?

As far as I know manuals don't have temparature monitoring in the gearbox. I didn't notice any extra wiring in mine that would attach to gearbox neither.

But it did give me a shade of suspision that my car might have been auto once........

    Thanx!!!

The sensor on the autos is on the cooler line close to where the trans cooler would be mounted.

Nope, no sensor on T case neither.

My 84 RRC occasionally had the same indication especially after a water crossing. I suspected water mixed with dirt in the unused auto oil cooler temperature sensor connector near the radiator made enough of a circuit to activate the light.

So even manual and no cooler, it still may have sensor mounted somewhere you reckon?

Was more thinking maybe the wires were still there as you mentioned it may have been an Auto once.

No sensor, just an unused connector that allowed dust and water to accumulate and create a circuit.

So I take it that in manual D1 this light doesn,t exist? Never can be seen turned on? If someone could confirm this?

    Thanks!
