Semi floating is where the axle/hub is integrated with the hub bearing pressed on, like std car sized axles. Fully floating is as we have on rovers where theres a hollow stub axle and the axle can be removed without disassembling the hub.

If you can fab stuff and I'm guessing the tojo stuff is dirt cheap, fit it, don't worry about the naysayers, if its a bush mobile its all good, bigger brakes, better ratio and dollar saving

If on the other hand you were paying I'd stick with rover stuff and do the usual lockers and axles

I've seen very, very few damaged swivel housing and I'd suggest if you damage one, you have more things to worry about, the only real joy of bolt on swivels is the ability to slot the holes for castor correction, whereas the jojo stuff you have to cut the weld and rotate the ball
I have seen many damaged swivel ball housings, if a CV joint lets go in a big way there is a good chance parts of the CV cage or balls can cause severe damage (or sometimes none at all). My own H/D swivel balls were badly torn up (by previous owner) on the inside with large gouges and chunks missing, caused by the above description. I spent a day with the Die Grinder and smoothed out all the sharp edges and high spots, all is good and that was over 10 years ago, Regards Frank.

Agree with the inner damage, I have blown plenty of CV joints, but the damage never had any effect....well the blown CV did once, driving home and the outer crunchy bits locked the steering up, by jamming between the swivel hub and ball, but once all dead bits removed cause no issues

yes, toyota axles are indeed going under my rover. dollar for dollar, my money is better spent on toyota axles.

Now thats out of the way...

It turns out those locating dowels are a real turkey to source. After many hrs searching, I finally found them at rovers north stateside, and only after the second time I called. lucky8 could not locate them.

I should be receiving the little buggers in the mail very soon.

I broke a set of engine mounts and installed them, just waiting on the locating pins, and I can drop in in for good!

I have the engine in the truck. Beginning wiring.

I have two electronic gismos on my IP. I understand the one on the side rear to be a security immobiliser. No idea what the top one is for.

I do not want a immobiliser on my pump. Can i remove this and rewire/add a one wire shutoff?
    The unit in question:

What is this unit on top? Near as ive found it works with the egr system?

Do you know what year and vehicle your 300Tdi is from? Mine is 95 but the pump is fully mechanical.

The IP looks to be mechanical by the injector lines coming out of it. I just googled the number on the unit and got this. BOSCH Idle air control SOLENOID CONTROL VALVE PART NO 0281005019 with

The second unit looks like a high idle unit maybe for the AC?

I dont know what year it is, supposed to be a 97 disco engine.

I do not have the edc pump, mine has a throttle cable, etc.

As near as i can tell, the first pic is of the immobiliser. Has power/earth/ and security signal. Apparently there is not a way to replicate the signal with the accompanying computer. One fellow on a thread just busted his off and found a regular one wire shutoff hiding beneath.

I dont relish taking a hammer and chisel to my pump quite yet!
