Your problem could be in the bushes at the front of the A frame or the position of the bolt holes for those bushes in the cross member.
Check those points for square, as it looks like from the photo's the RHS bush in the A frame is further forward. It's hard to imagine how, but the crass member may be bent forward on the right hand side.

havent got the alignment issue sorted yet. I did order the proper componants to fit oem A/C to my 300tdi. I had to buy them on your side of the pond, had no luck anywhere else!
After charging the system, I discovered my ac clutch wouldnt come on, but worked great on a jumper wire.
After some extensive digging, I discovered the ground signal entering the ECM was good, but there was no signal exiting the ECM. I simply spliced the in and the out right at the ECM and now the system works great.
As I see it, the presence of the ECM in this circuit is entirely a waste of wire. Why did they wire it this way? all the safety switches are in the circuit before the ECM, so my system now works exactly the same way sans ECM.
Some of the engineering in this truck baffles me.
The factory AC control would include cut-outs for engine over temperature and full throttle etc. So it's reasonably to expect these to need either extra work or bypassed with an engine swap.
But you've still got the AC clutching out when the evaporator gets too cold? That amplifier circuit is still working?
Ah that makes sense. NO the curcuit was dead.
Ive just finished up a 3000 mile trip to a warm part of country. I discovered this truck does not have the power to use AC and also maintain freeway speeds, so will need to see where the pump is set.
Oddly, some time into the trip I heard the electric fan relay clicking on off on off. the dash switch was off. the fans were also turning but barely. I had no control over it when I did switch it on.
At some point the relay stopped energizing, I assume it finally burnt out.
I havent dug into it, but as I recall, the circuit is on a negative switch, and the fans always have 12v to them? i am thinking maybe the fans went bad, feeding power back to the relay.
Should not be bent.
Your photo does not show the back of the bracket - the entire bracket is made as one piece, bend in a sort of 'u' shape, then welded on to the cross member - so I assume you should also have some connecting material between the lugs, behind the A-frame leg.
My old Range Rover is different, it actually has cast brackets bolted to the cross member instead of folded metal welded on.
