So, keep a look out for bars to suit Classic Range Rovers too - it may increase your chances.

    Sure?
Trial fitted the ARB bar from my RRC onto my D1. Unless you wanted to do some trimming, the bar hit the grill (at lest). Mounts appear to be the same tho.

The one I just sold (off my RRC) is now on a D1 - the buyer rang me to say it fitted perfectly. If he had to trim it to fit, he certainly didn't mention it. He didn't strike me as the sort of bloke that could have trimmed it if it needed it, but who knows. If it did need a trim, it certainly didn't take him long as he had it fitted 4 hours after collecting it from me.

Mounts are identical as the D1 has an almost identical chassis to the RRC.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

    Wink Got one..........

Just been to Cairns home/lifestyle/outdoor and 4x4 show today, talking to a guy there, has hooked us up with a friend of a friend who has a D1 TJM winch bar at a reasonable price that I can get up on the tablelands (on the way back home), so unless its a pile of junk, (I'm assured it is in VGC), it looks like I have a bar and it is local, well sort of.
So thanks for all the replies from a helpful community.

I bought a steel winch bar for my D1 for $80 a couple of months ago. Needs a little TLC (a little bit of minor straightening and paint) but structurally good.

Weird hey! I took the ARB bar off my '85 Rangie and had to weld plates on the rails to get it to fit???? Aaah well that's Land Rovers
There's been several threads on this before.

Someone has an alloy bar for a D1 for $100. It's in Caboolture. See the link (The AULRO face book page)

    Convert ARB to winch bar

Has anyone attempted converting the non winch ARB steel bar to take a winch on a disco 1 300TDi?

I had a non-winch Ally bar converted on a Toyota HJ75 (yes before I was converted to Landy's) in the 80s and it was solid as , even t-bagged the old troopy once in the iron Range NP hanging off the 8000KG winch installed.

Pretty sure it was a solid steel mounting base for the winch that bolted to the chasis very solidly... then cut a slot in the bull bar for the wire rope and hook to stick through...

I'd appreciate any pics or designs thanks Fellas :-)

I just purchased an ARB winch bullbar for a D1 for $250 with two Cibie Oscar Spotties. I purchased it from someone wrecking a D1 on eBay. It's in great condition. $250-$400 seems the going rate after watching these things for 6 months.
