    Steering, veering

    My D1 300tdi is veering to the left and have had it confirmed its not the tracking. There is nothing obvious wrong after a visual check underneath. Any ideas where to look next? thanks

    Sounds stupid, but have you checked Tyre Pressures?

    yeah, thats all good. It was done on a creek bed so i figure I bent something somewhere.

    The most common reason for this is the bushes connecting the lower links to the back axle - but if you have bent something.......

    It will be something to do with the locating of either the front or back axle, or, possibly a bent track rod.

    Thanks JDNSW. My rear sway bar is bent out of shape, would that make a difference???

    Quite possibly - depends how it is bent, but it could be distorting the bushes that actually locate the rear axle.
    And the bent sway bar may be a symptom of something else bent or broken - check the chassis anchorages for both lower links and A-frame, and check for a bent axle housing.
