    Dizzy Identification 93 D1 3.5 V8

    Hi Guys,
I was wondering if some one would be able to help me identify the distributor in my 93 D1 discovery.
I have been told that there were two type released in the D1 one with a female drive into the oil pump and one with out.
Is there any way to ID which one I have in my vehicle with out removing from the engine?
I know it has the 3 pin external module if that helps?

    Any advice would be great!

    Thanks

    Dan

If you have a serpentine belt 3.9 then you have the one without the oil pump drive, 3.5's all have the dizzy driven oil pump.

Nearly all the dissys with the remote module were serpentine engine ones hence no oil pump drive. I think I've met only one dissy with the module attached that didn't have the drive. 2 pin and 3 pin modules are often interchanged, the 2-3 pin change requires a short adaptor cable.

Regardless, the drive gear with/without the oil pump drive is a simple swap by tapping out the roll pin attaching it to the dissy shaft. You need a 3/16" pin punch to do this.
