    Disco 1 Washer bottle removal

Just following on from the threads new and old about removing the washer bottle from a 97 D1

I finished up grinding the nuts off the 2 lower Phillips bolts which are totally in accessible down in front of the fire wall.

The Phillips bolts were sort of captive which in theory should allow U to remove the nuts form underneath in the inner guards but 16 years has allowed the bolts to rust up and any captive hold the philips may have had is long gone.

removing the Phillips bolts from the bottle once it was out was a bit of a trial as they were still tight in the plastic support but not tight enough to allow the nuts to be removed
All that 2 replace a tiny non return valve in the rear door washer hose.

When I put the bottle back I will use a metal plate with 2 new bolts welded to it so if it happens again I can get the nuts off under the guard

When I pulled mine out all of the supposed captive nuts weren't, so I got the ****s and ripped it out and threw it into the recycle bin, where it belongs, replaced it with a nice small one from a Falcon, Regards Frank.
