Thread: Automatic Dramas

From what i have read here it sounds like a sticking governor , a fluid change may help or the auto could be on its way out, how many k's on it ?

The clunking is "Normal",. it's just backlash in the Transfer Box. Mine did it all the time.
There is a fix for it, but it cost a fair bit, and i didn’t think it was worth worrying about...it ran perfectly fine for nine years like that.

The Auto: do a fluid and filter change. Then see what happens........

Should be good then, as D39 said there are 2 different clunks that usually occur. First is the T/C backlash and 2nd is the auto thud when either slowing down or speeding up quickly.

G'day mate,the clunks i get are only changing from park to drive or park to reverse and only when the engine is at operating temp.But not changing up into 4th is ****ing ****ing me off and costing me fuel
