    suspension kit advice

    G'day,
Ok so my 2" lift (EFS) on the D1 is looking a bit tired, so was thinking on fitting a full lift kit, I'm currently runing 265/75/16's but am looking to go to 285/75/16's, already done mods for the flares, its got the povo pack so no air bags, but I dont really wana go the body lift, was thinking on either the Les richmond kit for $2750 or the Terrafirma TF233 kit, $2485 but this kit doesnt come with coil springs, or brake lines, but does come with cranked radius arms front and rear. What you rekon, or is there another option out there??

That is half the value of an average D1, surely you can achieve similar results for much less outlay.

Try QT Services in the UK if you don't mind buying from overseas. I got a set of cranked trailing and castor corrected radius arms from them for about $750 delivered.

If you want to buy local, give APT fabrications a call. His stuff is very good.

You don't need to buy it as a kit, you can source your bits from wherever is best.

For my +2 inch set up I got the radius and trailing arms from QT, Super Pro bush kit from Paddocks, adjustable panhard rod and extended braided lines from APT, progressive rate springs from Suspension Stuff and Terrafirma Pro Sport shocks from Rovacraft. All up would have been about $2500.

personally I would not buy a kit as they are made up as a generic set for most people, work out what you wan to achieve then go looking - my next system will be hydraulic bump stops, king coils, Xeng coil in coil, I already have the rest that I want but have to work on shocky towers to achieve the articulation I'm after - this set up is no for everyone or even a few but it is what I what for what I intend to do with the old girl.
