airboxes snorkels and how they all match up

OK so looking at snorkels lately and my airbox just seems to be in the way of everything, and installing a snorkel will then put the plumbing in the way of where my second battery will go. Also found quite a few holes in the bottom of the airbox would assume they not meant to be there as it would mean water could get in and defeat the purpose of the snorkel so looks like lots of sikaflex will be required to fill them in. have included a few pics of my airbox and its position however I would really like to remove it or maybe turn it 90degrees.
Anyone like to show me pics of what there setup is.

I agree from what i can work out looking at the safari snorkel kit for my model it seems to be very restrictive.
If you look at the photos I have posted I am pretty sure that circle at the rear of the airbox is where the snorkel comes through and then makes its way to the front to go through it, which to me seems quite stupid and restrictive.
Would love to see your setup when you get a chance though

I have the Airtech Snorkel and it goes out the side of the Airbox, not the front. That hole you see is the old intake tract that takes the hot air out of the front wheel arch.

I too will take Pictures tomorrow

The setup in the pic is on my old V8, but I now have the same setup on my 94 Disco 300TDi, if you want more pics let me know, Regards Frank.

Your airbox is ok in the position for a second battery. The snorkel intake comes in from the side on mine through the gaurd and the front bit sitting into battery area I cut back to allow room for battery and used a cut down aersol lid and sikaflex to block the hole.

I stand Corrected. It still enters the airbox from the front but with an elbow. However still room for a battery.

Mine's also an Airtec snorkel from TJM but it's the one specifically designed for tdi cylindrical airbox, so I modified it slightly to suit 3.5 V8.

It's better to regret the things you've done than those you haven't!
