Tail lights not working and some missing

I changed our lights to have the type with the indicators in it.

I feel a lot safer now knowing the lights can be seen more easily.

When I brought the lights I also received the plug and wires, which made hooking them up a lot easier.

Now have reverse, fog, tail , brake and indicator lights all working in the pillar as well as lights in the bumper bar.

Just make sure your earth wire has a good grounding, that stops a lot of weird faults.

thanks for the post! Where did you get your pillar lights with the indicator from? Has anyone else sourced these? Ive been thinking of adding some trailer waterproof LED indicators next to the pillar lights.

I have (from top) Brakes, nothing but red diffuser, Reverse, Fog.

I have been cautioned by police for having dim tail lights partially obscured by my bike rack and (4) bikes. The bumper lights are 5w, I've now decided to always run the pillar fog lights (25w), but note they only come on when the park lights or head lights are turned on. Any reason why I should not run the fogs always they are no brighter than my other car??

I obtained the 1994 D1 lights for my 1996 model which is without tail lights in the pillar, from a Land Rover wrecker in Victoria who sells on eBay.

Make sure you ask for some wiring to be left with the lights as that way you will get the plugs that have the extra terminal in them to add the tail light circuit.

With a bit of scratching around, you can undo the back of the light fitting in the bummer and then draw enough of the tail light wire back into the interior space, that will enable you to easily cut, splice, solder and seal with some heat shrink, to add the extra wire into the existing wiring loam.
