    Front seats

    G'day again

Both the front seats in my disco are knackered so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend replacements, be they from another model or after market. Originals are like hens teeth down this end of the country. Thanks in advance. Cheers Barry

    Smile Simple fix.

Do you mean that the whole of the seats, ( frames, upholstery, padding/suspension), are stuffed or just that the bottom squabs (part you sit on) suspension system is collapsed, because that seems to be a most common problem.
I was able fix the drivers seat in ours by removing the suspension panel from beneath the squab and replacing it with "8mm shock cord" (bungee cord) wrappings, about 3 metres length was enough, cost $2.50 per metre at BCF, a good cheap solution.
Our seats looked ok but when sitting in the drivers seat your bum was near dropping down through to the floor, just a few cross wraps and the seat supports as it should. Gaz

Exmoor trim in the UK have some videos on how to replace the trim. They also sell the kits to DIY. Not sure what the freight costs would be but probably worth sending them an email if you can't locate replacements locally.

The other alternative is if there is a motor trimmer locally near you but I'd hate to think how much that would cost.

Thanks all, the frames have been twisted so beyond salvage I think
