3 door if its just for 2 up transport most of the time, 5 door if you have kids- dependent on age, drivetrain etc of each.
I personally dont like the look of the 3 drs.
I have brought a 3 door discovery and a 5 door discovery and I am wondering which one I should spend money on.
I am swinging towards the 3 door since it is in better condition, however less practical since it lacks the 2 extra doors?
What do you guys think?

Depends on use - dedicated 4wder then the 3 door but if to be an every day driver definitely the 5 door.

I reckon the 3 doors look sick when they're done up. But yeah if you have kids go 5 door. Also when you replace the door latch springs, you only have to do 3!
I have a 3door and it is impractical and annoying at times but mostly you get used to it. I do like the look of the 3 doors more, this is what mine is looking like atm.
...
I've just got back from three weeks touring through the centre of Oz with the family (3 kids & missus). I love my 3dr, but the 5dr is definitely more practical and also has larger rear wheel arches so bigger tyres fit more easily. The 3drs are also stronger in the body (note that the Disco1 was originally designed only as a 3dr and then the design was changed to put rear doors in afterwards). Is it a deal-breaker? Not at all. But if there were two identical Discos on offer for the same money I'd take the 5dr next time. If the 3dr was in better nick I'd take the 3dr. If I didn't have kids I'd have the 3dr irrespective (and waaaaay more money to spend on it...). Good luck with it.
