Prop shaft greasing
Hi all,
I have been searching and cant seem to find the answer im looking for, im about to get under the D1 and grease everything, I understand how to do the Uni joints however I cant find any information on how the correctly grease the prop shaft slip joint, how much grease do you use?, will it purge if I keep going? or is it sealed and will just expand, bearing in mind I have never done it before so im not sure of the condition of the grease thats in it and would like to be able to keep pumping till new grease comes out somewhere.
Thanks
Kevin

It will purge. There is a largish void but it only opens at the plastic seal collar around the splines, it shouldn't take much pumping till it comes out. When greasing I like to take the load off the shaft by putting the T Case in neutral and jacking up one wheel front or back, you can check the condition and movement of the joints before greasing this way too, after greasing might hide any wear as it will feel tight.
