If they are half decent quality, then two spreads should be fine. You are very unlikely to drive fast enough to outdrive them.
I put 2 spread beam Super Oscars with 100W HID on the 130 and it is heaps for the speed that the Td5 gets up to but the answer to your question depends on the quality/design of the lights
I run one of each but if i was buying again i would get two spread as the pencil is a dot 1klm away, the spread is brilliant[especially for cheap chinese]
Richard
Indeed, depends on the quality of the light, a Super Oscar with H4, let alone HID, 1800 m spread, 2600 m spot, going by their catelogue.
Me two 75 w spread Super Oscar (HID)
HID-Lightsdownunder - HID - Lightsdownunder
And if you want to go crazy ........
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

I run two ipf extreme 70w hid pencil beams and a 42" led light bar . Why 2 spots is a question i get asked all the time answer i want to see well for a long distance your head lights on high beam light up the side but add the led light bar and there is no question why you would want one spread beam![]()
I have one spot and one spread beam. Both HID on my D1 and they work well on windy country roads as well as the beach.
