Have a look on the radiator support panel.
I'm sure they were just using up parts as they went into 99, supposedly face lifted D1's only had indicators in the bumper not in pillars but a google shows that some did and some didnt.
Mine has and they are factory fitted but yet others with 95-98 D1's dont have indicators in the pillars.
Same with my old 2dr RRC, it was an 81 update but still had the plastc push in letters on bonnet instead of stickers.
just had a nosey and neither the vin plate which was on the rad panel or the compliance plate which was on drivers side guard had a date on them... or am i being dumb and missing something (highly likely lol)
Yes - the build plate should be on the radiator panel and the compliance plate on the passenger inner guard panel in front of the water bottle.
If your car was sold new in 1999 it most likely was build late 98 - the date on the build plate and the compliance plate would have been affixed here in Aust just before sale - the date on that plate will be the date the compliance plate was affixed not when the car was built.
Cheers
Garry
you'll laught but i think someone messed up on my compliance plate as the only date i could find was 1799
Post up a pic of the build plate and the compliance plate.
Mines the same 99 compliance but manufactured 98.
