    Abit unsure of exactly what model my landy is

    Its a 1999 300tdi would this be called a series two? or am i on the changeover year and its actually a facelifted series one? Cheers sorry for the dumb question

    Easy way to tell. The D2 has rear lights up high, low on the D1.

    So does the compliance plate say 1999? I once test drove a '99 300tdi auto, however have lost count of the number of people saying '98 was the last year of production.

    I'd guess at it being a "WA" VIN number. 98MY D1, however, I thought the production continued into 99, as the commercial version.

    hmm i've not checked the plate, where abouts is that? was just advertised as a 99 on the forecourt

    That's very interesting, I have a D1 300 TDI with 3/99 compliance but was told manufacturing date is 98. Also wondering about rims in above photos, did they come with 2 kinds of rims?, mine are Alloy, but above look like steel rims??

    I have a soft-dash RRC which is registered as a 1996. I'm pretty sure they built the last in 94.

    From memory, both the VIN plate and compliance plate should be attached to the right hand inner guard.
