Have you checked the intergrity & function of the electrical connections to the fuel cut-off solenoid ?
G'DAY
I'VE OWNED "RADISH " (A1997 DISCO TDI 300 - 236'000km) FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS . I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE VEHICLE , HOWEVER IT NEVER STOPS MESSING WITH MY MIND .
THE CURRENT PROBLEM IS A HABIT OF CUTTING OUT IN THE MOST INAPPROPRIATE SITUATIONS ie BELOW THE HIGH TIDE MARK ON MAIN BEACH NORTH STRADBROKE ISLAND OR COMING DOWM A LONG NARROW HILL WITH A TIPPER & DOG RIGHT BEHIND.
NO WARNING IS GIVEN , AND IF ALOWED TO REST FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES WILL START AND GO A 100 METERS , IF RESTED 10/15 MINUTES IT WILL GENERALLY GET ME HOME OR GO WITHOUT A PROBLEM FOR A WEEK.
I HAD THE FUEL PUMP & FILTER REPLACED ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO , (THE OFF IDLE RESPONSE IMPROVED TO THE POINT WHERE I WENT LOOKING FOR THE AFTER BURNER).
ALL WAS ROSSEY UNTIL THE PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN 3 WEEKS AGO.
EARLIER I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THR VEHICLE IMMOBILISING ITSELF WHEN PARKED , A YOUNG MECH CUT A COUPLE OF WIRES IN THE DRIVERS DOOR AND BESIDES THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR NOT CENTRAL LOCKING THE PROBLEM APPEARED SOLVED
IS THIS CURENT PROBLEM ELECTRICAL . OR SHOULD I BE DRAINING THE TANK AND LOOKING FOR A FUEL DELIVERY PROBLEM ?
ANY IDEARS WOULD BE APPRECIATED
DESPERATE WARRIGAL
Have you checked the intergrity & function of the electrical connections to the fuel cut-off solenoid ?
I BELIEVE THE SOLINOID WAS REPLACED WITH THE FUEL PUMP AND FILTER , HOWEVER I'll TAKE A LOOK .
THANKS

You don't have to shout LOL. Typing in Capitals is shouting!!!!![]()
Best guess would be the spider module. This was happening to me many years ago and it seems that over time the dry solder joints inside break up and make intermittent contact causing the irregular immobilization or actually cutting out while driving...great fun.
Took me ages to track the problem and my nearest LR dealer was no help...had no clue but still charged me $100 to put the computer on it and test. A year later when ordering some parts through another LR mechanic I mentioned the issue and he told me about the LR patch connector that fixed it and that it was a recognized problem for some time!!! Was I peeved with the dealership for not knowing and charging me for their ignorance. Anyhow problem gone and never returned.
I'd be a bit worried about the cut wires in your door though, I think I'd be patching them back up as this is obviously not your problem.
Hope this helps.
Les.
THANKS hardspan
I'LL LET YOU KNOW HOW I GET ON.
SORRY I'VE OFFENDED SO MANY WITH MY SHOUTING . WITH ONE HAND , I FIND THE SHIFT KEY A WAIST OF SPACE . I'LL KEEP MY POSTS BRIEF ,
THANKS AGAIN
Just run a fused wire to a toggle switch on the dash from the positive of your battery and run it to the cut off solenoid on the back of your injection pump.
If you have no further mysterious "fail to proceeds", you can bet that it is the spider thing and you can then make the fixes in the right area directly.
You probably already know that you can spend a fortune having some experienced "expert" have a look at your problem, you pay whilst they learn. Gaz
P.S. I don't mind your capitals, I'm an old bloke it makes for easier reading, and I'm also a bit deaf, (or so the wife say's), shouting is ok.
