THANKS FELLAS !
THE SPIDER MODULE CONECTIONS HAVE BEEN RESOLDERED.
NO MORE "FAILED TO PROCEED"S AS YET ???
You had the fuel pump and filter replaced 3 weeks ago all was roses and it started again...
Do you recall whether you allowed your fuel to get fairly low when it started happening?
The other thing I wouldn't over look is you have crap in your tank and perhaps its happening again because your fuel filter is beginning to clog up again causing the car to be starved of fuel and cutting out???
If you don't resolve it through the electrical theories I would be inclined to check your diesel. I cant recall whether its the 300 that has a strainer on the tank and that can become clogged with debris or whether I have seen this mentioned on another vehicle like the TD5.
I think diesel can get a black sort of gunky slime in it that clogs lines and blocks filters causing performance issues I don't know if its an algea or not...I think it can come from using dirty or old, poorly stored diesel
if you haven't cleaned the sedimeter that would also be good to do but I believe they are easy to break so its best to just change them.
Just throwing this one out there....I maybe well off the mark!!
bypassing the spider should be done anyway if you haven't because the immobliser can become sensitive and very unpredictable....It did on mine
but I find it odd that you changed the pump and the filter and everything was good for a while these things would not effect your immobiliser
P.s as for the shift button why dont you just take your caps lock off? then you wont need to hold the shift button to get the lower cased letters
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

Good to hear you may have cured your problem.
Owning a Land rover is just one problem solving mission after another, or so I've found, you can always bet someone has had the same issues at some time and here on this forum is a good place to find answers.
If the Landie's weren't so lovable one may consider driving another brand, that could be...................BORING!
Mine I treat as "occupational therapy", it keeps me out of the pub.
Your experience and feedback will be helpful to some other owner no doubt and that's what it's all about. Gaz![]()
warrigal, even though you have resoldered the alarm it will happen again in a few months. you need to do what I did. pull the loom out and away from the firewall and shove the loom and control unit under the dash. never had a problem since. Been almost 4 years Now.

Also check the water trap near the tank as mentioned as mine was full of slime when I cleaned it out recently.
Cheers
