    magic rain D1 salve.

    Go figure.
Interior fan in the D1 has not worked for past 6 months. I tried to fix it. Pulled out fan and tested it - OK. tested the resistor, the switch, and the relay. All tested OK individually. But the stupid fan would not work ergo no AC.
Left the disco out last night and it rained, first time for 6 months.
Started this morning and the FAN WORKED and the AC even blasted cold air.
Must be a magic leak somewhere. Wonder how long it will go for. Any ideas what /where I should look to make this thing work permanently? Gotta be a dodgy earth or somink.
Funny because it was parked outside the front window and I commented to SWMBO what a nice looking vehicle it was.
    Karma?

A look in the D1 forum would be a good start. This is the D2 forum.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

It was when I posted my comment. It has now been moved to here.

If you look in D2 it is still there with "Moved" beside it.

There are actually 2 relays from memory, there's an A/C clutch relay and a A/C logic relay, sometimes the relays with work intermittently and when they lose contact inside, due to arcing they can cut off power.
I'm speaking from experience with D1 V8s, don't know if TDIs had the same relays set up. Rave shows a photo in component location section of these relays.
