Calling R380 seals experts!!!
Hi all,
Friend got me some oil seals for R380 that I'm rebuilding. Input and output shaft seals to be precise. Although sizes are the same, Brand is different the ones that were in the gearbox are CFW, replacement ones are LYO. Also replacement ones don't have those "ribs" near the lip to push the oil back.
Any toughts? these replacements good enough to install or go try to source exactly what was in there?
Thanx!!!

There are seals and there are seals.
A lot of people buy on price, cheap Bripart or other generic brand seals is the price you pay for having to pull everything apart later all over again.
People should check to see what they are getting beforehand.
Another pit fall are those generic gasket kits for the LT230, paper gaskets and generic seals. Land rover and Ashcrofts use RTV for gaskets, RTV seals better. Yet people still see those paper gasket kits as a bargain. You get what you pay for.
