reliability problems with brake light switch

    Hi
does any other D1 owners have issues with their brake light switches failing every 12 months or so?
I have a '97 disco which uses the white plastic switch on the foot brake. I've replaced this about 4 times in the past few years. Always with the switch falling apart, or sticking.
is there a better product out there? All I know is the Lucas one. I think the part number is 13H3735L.

Appreciate any info on this. Thanks

You must have it over adjusted so that on the pedal return its slamming the switch and breaking it.
Have not had mine fail in the 8 years i have had it.

I've a 97 and haven't touched it in the two years that I've had the Disco. Doesn't show any sign of failing (touch wood).

I didn't realise you can adjust it. As far as I work out, it goes in the top square hole, then the spacer nut goes in behind. How do you adjust it? Cheers.
