    4.6RR Motor

Hi guys i am new to this forum but not new to land rovers hand them most of my life. My question is i have a 1993 discovery with a 3.5i in it and the motor is starting to get a bid sad so i am looking at doing a engine swap with a 4.6L RR motor, i want to know how much is involved just after a couple of answers.

    Questions:
1.Will the RR 4.6l match up to the zf auto and lt230 transfer in it or will i require a adapter plate or use a different box.

2.I know the fuel pump will have to be replace what do you guys recommend to replace it with

    3. And finally how difficult is it to covert it

    Thanks lads for the help

The D1 ran the 14CUX on the 3.5 as well, flappers were on 86-89 Rangies.

I have a 4.6 in mine (Bee Utey put gas in it for me) original 14 cux no mods, and original fuel pump. From all I have researched a piggy back unit on the cux will make big improvements but even with out it , it is much better than the 3.9 also fitting an O2 sensor and wiring it into the cux is a big improvement as well.

I ran out of money time and energy to do the above - I might do it eventually

If you spend much time at peak rpm at WOT it might be a problem but I'm not sure there would be any problems with occasional full power. I've found that the 3.9 is normally too rich anyway. The one soft dash 3.9 RRC I converted to 4.6 runs the stock 14cux fuelling and has been used for interstate towing for the last 4 years without issue. The LPG systems I fit use an O2 sensor and processor with a WOT fully rich setting.

mine most definitely does not run lean, and I have put over 100,000km on it so I am pretty comfortable it isn't an issue
