    A/c constant fuse blow out

    Hi guys

I am experiencing constant a/c fuse blow out and have no idea why. Its the 30 amp fuse in fuse box in eng bay.

There is plenty of gas in system, i cant see and exposed wires, compressir working fine.

Each time i have replaced fuse, it work perfectly and fine. After an hour, i start feeling hot air!! Nooo!!

Im at a loss so is auto electric. Any guidance or pointers appreciated..

    Many thanks
    Adrian

Obviously a short or overload in the system and it can be tedious to isolate I know, but hardly beyond the skills of a competent sparky.

Check that the wiring for the thermal cutout and temp gauge on the thermostat housing are correctly installed and then you also have condenser fans, blower motor and compressor clutch to check.

Just disconnect one thing at a time in the a/c circuit and see if short goes away

I was having a similar problem, have a look at this thread. The wires on my D1 were shorting under the pulley. Cleaned up all the wiring and now all has been OK.

Had a similar problem a few years ago. Took it to the local auto electrician who found the wiring around the battery had some rub marks on it, he couldn't see any bare wires but taped it up anyway.
    Had no trouble since.
