petrol v8 to diesel 300tdi conversion

So looks like my body requires allot of work for road worthy and thinking it may be cheaper and easier to get new body there seems to be quite allot of v8 up for sale quite cheap so thinking may get one of those and change engine over later down the track.
My research says it should be a very easy bolt in job pretty much I currently have an auto 300tdi so would try to find an auto v8 however if I do end up with a manual how much more of a pain is it going to.

Yer biggest problem with a V8/300TDi swap in a LR chassis is that the engine mounts on the chassis are completely different so need to be welded and inspected. Everything else is just nuts and bolts. You may have more success just bolting another similar year body onto your existing chassis and raiding any driveline bits you need for a roadworthy off the V8 chassis.

D1 bodies are pretty much given away so a body swap will be most economical way if you can do the work yourself.
