Nylon Wheel on Electic Window Lifts

On the end of the moving arm of the electric window lift motors there is a nylon wheel attached that travels along a metal track connected to the bottom of the glass as the window goes up and down.

The nylon wheel on my RH rear widow has cracked in half and fallen off preventing the window from being activated in either direction. I have taken the motor out the door frame.

It doesn't appear as there's any means of fitting a new wheel, and I don't think you can buy them separately, and even if you could I can't see how you could fit it to the end of the arm. Does this mean you have to replace the whole motor/lift arm for the failure of a small nylon wheel?

There quite a few posts on here including AFAIR a project in Projects etc, dealing with this.
There is a way of fitting a house sliding door wheel to the arm.
Go down to the special Google search facility at the bottom of the page and google some variations of D1 window lifts etc etc .

I did the repair that uses a split nylon block made from a cut-up bread board. I found it to be a supremely elegant and effective repair that can be done without removing the winder mechanism from the car.

The wheel you want is a " rolltrak" 4361 replacement wardrobe door roller 25 mm x 6 mm from BUNNINGS or mitre 10 or like
You will have to dolly the track the roller runs in to make it a bit wider,, grind the remaining roller flush with arm and punch out the remaining shaft...after fitting the new roller its nut and shaft will need to me ground to half the thickness of the nut or else it will hit when going up and down ..after you've done one it takes less than 30 min when the next window goes out in in sympathy...Gary

My front passenger one is stuffed too, although I am still able to get the
Window up and down if I am careful with it.
I have looked into replacements, I have seen brass ones available. I think
It was either on Les Richmond website or tr spares

Anthony, curious what you mean by stuffed.
Mine open and shut fine but get stuck in the doors if I let them go down too far.

By stuffed I mean one of the nylon rollers is broken off, the one nearest the door handle
Sorry should have been more specific. If I press the button to
Bring the window down in one go there is a load bang noise
Which is the metal stud that the wheel used to sit on catching on the
Roller track. In then opens. Going up is no problem. What I do for now
Is just give the button a quick click, this lets the window open
Slightly - it drops a bit- then it goes down ok. It's on the to do list
But not a priority as the car is currently not a daily driver
