Thread: Damn annoying quirky electrical problem...

So my trusty Disco that never gets much wrong with it all of a sudden this weekend started behaving a bit strangely...only electrically...oh, and I hardly ever drive it so this is the first time it's been properly driven for a whole couple of days in a while but still this is a weird problem.

So, listening to my stereo, and I can kind of hear weird noises through it as the car revs and I put the indicator on, sort of rumbles, also when I turn on the stereo the sound of it winding up rumbles through the speakers...very low rumble but it accentuates the sounds of the revs that make it sounds like I've got a "fully sick" exhaust on it or something.

Also, at times when I turn on the fan, or the indicator, and especially the headlights...the radio cuts out for a split second and you can see the gauges on the dash (speedo etc.) all cut out and drop for a split second also before everything turns back on and works as normal.

So...bit strange...and driving me nuts!

There is a history with this car that the light in the glove box was shorting out a fuse that turned off all the dash interior lights but everything else still worked like the headlights and the stereo and gauges etc.

Any ideas...pleeeeeeeeeeeease

Clean and fix the engine to body and engine to chassis earth cable points first of all.
