    Question EGT into a Disco-1 and what's the best spot?

    Guys.....

    Looking at installing a EGT &/or BOOST gauges into my Disco. Been looking on eBay and there's heaps of different options all at varying prices..... Couple of things I'd like to find out off others:

    • Gauge Size - 52mm or 60mm or some other size
    • Is EGT gauge OK only or is it good to have both EGT/Boost
    • Location / Position in Disco-1 (A-pillar or on/in Dash)?
    • Digital or Analog type
    • Round (Analog/Digital) or Rectangular (Digital) in shape
    • Thermocouple - Exposed Tip or Sealed Tip (Looking at installing both Pre and Post) - Have read that exposed tip is better for quicker response but sealed Tip will last longer though...
    • What sort of $$ do u "need" to spend on buying a EGT? (I've seen a kit from around $100>$150 all the way up to >$500+)
    • One with Limits / Alarm settings (I kinda of like the alarm idea, especially if I end up mounting the gauge where it's not in my face)


    Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....

    I've spoken to Ian about his setup and very helpful.... but with his gauge there is no option to set Upper Limits, etc, which is something I want that will warn me when something is not right, especially if I end up installing the gauge where its not always in your face..... Not sure whether u can buy all the other bits from him and buy just the gauge from someone else.....??
