ZF auto
our disco 1 auto trans seems to short shift first to second generally at 5 to 25kms, when driven normally pushing harder doesn't seem to improve it much, the other gears all come in when I think they should and the converter lock engages at about 80 Kay's as I believe it should, is there any adjustments on or in the trans? Is it a program issue? Or do they just do that anyway? Is a 3.9 and doesn't seem to lack takeoff, is it possible I'm just used to vehicles with less torque that have to wind out further from standstill, any thoughts?
Ta in advance Jim.

All ZF 4HP22 s do this.
It is supposedly a fuel economy measure.
The only way you can change it a bit is to wind up the kickdown cable a bit, and then it will hold all gears longer.
But it doesn't make much difference.
If you are in a hurry, manually hold it in first.
