A 2'' body lift and bigger wheels will give you the same clearance as a 2'' spring lift and the same wheels, however with the body lift your CofG will be lower and your link angles better.
Th CoG will raise as the weight of the body will be higher.

agree with randy. it makes no sense that lifting the car lowers the CoG. also if the reason you want to lift it is so you can fit monster tyres you will need to take into consideration that this will put much more pressure on your axels, shafts etc.
i have original tyres on mine and has had a lift in the past, slightly saggy now. when money comes my way i will just upgrade to 235/85. even with the current setup my car goes pretty much anywhere. i have been nothing but impressed at her. it helps much more if you can drive than if you just turn it into a monster truck.

Body lift requires engineers cert and a modest spring lift doesn't

Please read what i posted again... slowly...
It is clear to others that i said cofg raises either way, just that the increase is less with a body lift.

Les richmond automotive kit, while expensive, has all these issues sorted.

    Thumbs up

Thank you to all of that helped me to make a decision. I am leaning towards the suspension lift, but i will now find the prices as that will be a determining factor. Again, thank you all and have a good day - Gerry (wedgetail37)

235/85/16 on standard D1 Alloy rims??

Hello Posty. Thanks for the info. Do the 235/85/16 defender type tyres fit onto the standard D1 Alloy rims or do I have to change the rims?

I'm using +2 inch King Springs in my Disco and have been for 3 years or so.
Must say I'm happy but they area a little bit stiff. I will try and go slightly softer next time.
