Brake light
My left hand brake light is dim. Replaced light assembly and new globe holder. Checked earth points, all good. Anyone have some clues. 1997 Discovery 1 auto 300 TDI. Thanks.

Just because your earth points are good doesn't mean the globe is getting a good earth. Take the globe holder out of the lamp, get a stick and wedge your brake pedal on. Using a piece of wire provide a temporary earth to the globe base from a good earth in the vehicle. The move further afield until you see where the problem lies. Your temporary earth can be permanently soldered in to the bulb wiring if it needs to be.

Also make sure you don't have a 24v globe installed.
I had this issue when I first my disco and the previous owner had accidentally purchased the wrong globe.
