Can't help you with your height but as for cat's, all petrol cars after Jan one 1986 have cat's

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Yes I have read conflicting info, mine is a 93 V 8i and does not have one fitted and the last owner did not remove it. So I'm lost.

Happy to stand corrected if I am wrong.

Possibly 4x4's came into a different category and the 1/1/86 did not apply to them.

It is definitely correct for passenger cars though

Bit like child restraint mounting points. From memory they were mandated for passenger cars in 1976 yet my 1983 RR did not have them
    Law did not include 4x4.

The D1 came into Australia as a commercial vehicle.
P38s & D2s were the first to have catalytic convertors.
