next time you are at the lights next to a semi have a look at the trailer tyres, where there is a tyre brand every letter ground off that is a time a tyre has been retreaded. so a Michelin tyre that reads "chelin" has been capped twice, to memory there is no maximum number of times a good case can be capped.
Hope this helps
Mick
Sure does help.... thanks.
I always wondered what that meant where letters were missing, now I know.[/b][/quote]
May also find it interesting to know that 747 tyres can be retreaded upto about 14 times 8O 8O

Thats what I was thinking. $175 for a 32 10 R15 mongrel tyre with pretty much the same tread pattern as a simex et2. I wouldn't be trying a cross country trip to Perth with these tyres, just rippin it up round my joint for a bit of fun when it starts gettin really wet.Originally posted by hiline
i'd say mick just as a weekend play tyre i don't see any harm in them
but i wouldn't run them at high speeds on the roads 8O
the tread pattern its self looks fine but my main concern would be the sidewalls just never know how old the original tyre was
if they are cheap enough go for it![]()

I'll give 'em a go and see. I'll post my thoughts in a few weeks when I've given 'em a good work out.
