    D1 sill tank fitment

    g'day just bought a pair of sill tanks and i just put them up under the car just to see how they sit and there hitting a bracket that goes from the underside of the body to the sill these are ment to sit right up in the sill but its not looking like its ment to

    Early D1s and RRC's didn't have the diagonal bracket. You'll have to find other (later) sill tanks or modify the ones you've got. Shouldn't be hard to get two small sections rewelded.

    I just cut a section out of the brackets enough to clear the tanks. They have been in there 20 years and a lot of very rough roads with no ill effects.
    As Bee utey said the early ones did not even have the brackets.
